He’s a very direct metaphor for the agents around him, particularly Coulson, whom we’ve seen beginning to question S.H.I.E.L.D. policy and orders in the name of humanity and trust; and who, late in “The Well,” ends up with the Berserker’s heart literally in his hands. Meanwhile, Ward and May serve as similar reflections of one another, as each comes into contact with the Berserker’s staff, with radically different results. | |
